Determining the 'biological' age of ears based on a person's hearing threshold.

To ascertain the biological age of a person's ears, the tool compares the current hearing threshold with the statistical distribution of hearing thresholds related to age and gender (ISO 7029:2017). This reveals how many additional years need to be added to the chronological age due to exposure to high noise levels. Alternatively, if people hear better than the norm at their age, they have younger ears.

This significantly simplifies the task for professionals in explaining the results of the hearing test (i.e., the audiogram), motivating individuals to protect their ears, and promoting behavioral change.
