Calculates the expected shift in hearing threshold due to noise, taking into account age, gender, and the level and duration of noise exposure.

The green curve predicts the person's hearing threshold today. The underlying curves show the expected progression of the hearing threshold in 10-year increments up to the maximum age of 60 years (end of active career) if no hearing protection is worn. Additionally, the tool assesses the overall risk of a hearing impairment exceeding 40 dB (qualifying for a hearing aid) at the age of 60. This fundamentally changes one's perception of potential consequences and strongly motivates the use of hearing protection.

The risk profile is useful for positively changing behavior and motivating people to use hearing protection.
